Preventive Dentistry

Continued oral health requires preventive visits with our team of outstanding professionals, followed by diligent homecare. We will share our extensive knowledge with you and train you to keep your smile healthy at home. Together, we'll make a strong team, and our reward will be your beautiful smile.

  • Oral Hygiene and Screening Visits
We thoroughly clean and polish your teeth, paying special attention to plaque buildup around the gum line. We also take a full set of X-rays and use DIAGNOdent laser technology to locate tooth decay in the earliest stages and in hard-to see locations between teeth. Each comprehensive check up includes oral cancer and gum disease screening. Don’t leave your oral health to chance – together we can build a lifetime of healthy smiles for you!
  • Patient Education
Dental hygiene visits only comprise half of your preventive care regimen. Proper daily hygiene techniques are crucial to maintain your healthy smile. We make our years of experience and advanced training available to you, providing one-on-one training and instruction to help you feel comfortable caring for your smile at home. Along with educational DVDs to illustrate our explanations, we use intraoral cameras to show you the condition of your teeth, and we're happy to answer your questions and recommend products.
  • Periodontal Therapy
When plaque gathers below the gum line and hardens into tartar, it can irritate gums and emit bacteria that cause a destructive condition known as periodontal disease. We defend you from the drastic effects of this pervasive infection by scaling away the tartar buildup from below the gum line, then planing the tooth’s surface to reduce potential for recurrence. To promote healing, we can irrigate the site of the infection, apply Arestin antibiotic gel, and remove diseased tissue with a soft tissue laser. Once the infection is eradicated and damaged tissue removed, your body will generate new, healthy gum tissue. Throughout the procedure, we will keep you comfortable with local anesthesia or nitrous oxide. For advanced periodontal disease, we may refer patients to a periodontal specialist for care.
